Tier 1, $55–$85: fixture-for-fixture swap of a single porch light, wall lantern or small sconce on an existing box at reachable height. Tier 2, $85–$125: two-head flood lights, dusk-to-dawn security lights, motion-sensor lights (mounted, aimed and programmed), fixtures under eaves or on second-story walls that need a taller ladder, and fixtures that need a new weatherproof box cover or box repair. Tier 3, $125–$165: large gallery or hanging porch fixtures, multi-head security arrays, fixtures at 14 ft or higher, and installs with a smart photocell, smart switch or timer added. Every additional fixture in the same visit is discounted.

Existing wiring only — what is and is not included

Our outdoor lighting service covers installing or replacing fixtures where a box, wiring and switch already exist. It does not include running new circuits, trenching for landscape or path lighting, adding a switch where none exists, or panel work — those are licensed electrician jobs and we will say so up front. If you have an existing porch light that you want upgraded to a motion-sensor light, or a dead flood light you want replaced with an LED dusk-to-dawn unit, that is exactly what we do.

Humidity, salt air and sideways rain destroy outdoor fixtures that were installed without sealing. We use wet-rated (not just damp-rated) fixtures for exposed walls, fit the gasket, run a silicone bead along the top and sides of the canopy while leaving the bottom open to drain, use a weatherproof in-use cover where needed, and coat connections with dielectric grease to slow corrosion. Corroded screws are replaced with stainless hardware.

Motion-sensor and security light setup

A motion light is only useful if it is aimed and tuned. After mounting we set the detection range and sensitivity so passing cars do not trigger it, set the on-time (typically 1–5 minutes), enable or disable dusk-only mode, and aim each head to cover the driveway, side yard or back door without blinding the neighbors. Dusk-to-dawn units get their photocell positioned away from the fixture's own light so they do not cycle on and off.
